I know I was writing about the five ways to increase your capacity to have eyes that see... but as with any list that I do it must be fluid... it must be able to grow ... it must be able to be able to morph into something else if it needs to ... normally not thrilled with five ways to do this or ten ways to do that I began something that now has a life of its own....
So continuing on the path of how to increase your capacity to have eyes to see... is that you must have eyes that are willing to see... uhm? Mims.. what ? Well here is the story.... You all know it..
A young boy in the fields tending the sheep .. when he is beckoned to come stand in front of his brothers and his father and him..... and so he comes..... unbeknown to him... The prophet had already looked over his brothers and wanted to anoint one but God... but God.... then the brothers had all passed before the prophet and yet the one who would be king was not even in the lineup....
Another passage tells us of another King who would not within Himself have any attribute that would naturally draw us to Himself... He would be "One from whom men hide their faces He was despised, " and we would not appreciate His worth or have any esteem for Him... (Isaiah 53 Amp.)
To eyes that see..... You must hunger for God's heart.... You must want to see what and how He sees.... You must be willing to suspend natural human reason and acknowledge that God's ways and thoughts are not those of a man..... You must be willing to see people... not just the marquee players of the hour as those that have a voice and a message.... You must be looking for those that would be living in the proverbial fields tending the sheep and yet they are the next to be crowned king...
Oh Father... may it be so ... may our hearts hunger even more for Your ways... may our eyes be open to see all that there is to be seen and may you lead us to the fields to find the men and women there who have learned the lesson of the lion and the bear and are ready to defeat the greatest of giants..... Oh God may we have eyes to see......
